About us

We are a family business established in 1963 and now in the third generation.

Engineering since 1963

The business was started in Tamaterau by the late John Jarman and his wife Joan after he completed his adult apprenticeship at Whangarei Engineering. He built the business with a focus on tool-making, precision engineering and safety relief valve overhaul.

In 1985 Nick started his apprenticeship and completed this along with his NZCE. When John passed away in 1990 Nick took the helm and along with his wife Donna have kept the business moving forward.

In 2008 after working on an advanced paramedic degree James returned to the business and has since been a driving force. He has completed his apprenticeship, advance trade and a first line management course all of which have added to the depth of his experience within the business. To top this all off we have a team that all work together like a well-oiled machine creating an awesome environment to get the job done.

Precision machine shop

We are now known as a precision machine shop with the ability to conquer even the toughest challenges and feed on such things. We have added CNC equipment to our already extensive machine shop to be able to offer this for short runs and one off precision components.

Our industrial valve overhaul has become sort after and in conjunction with our local inspection company Stork Technical Services we are able to offer ISO certified relief valve testing for those that require this.
